We sing a song (Unto the O Lord, 794). This song comes from David, a man after God’s own heart. Psalm 25 has reminded God’s people for several millennia – God is the single source of ALL our needs. He, alone, is the giver and keeper of our souls. He, alone, gives us victory over our enemies. He, alone, is the sure and certain hope of those who wait upon Him. He, alone, is our source of forgiveness. He, alone, will guide us by His word of truth and teach us His paths. He, alone, is the God of our salvation!

   Unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.

   O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed,

Let not mine enemies triumph over me.

   Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed:

Let them be ashamed which transgress without cause.

   Shew me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths.

   Lead me in thy truth, and teach me:

For thou art the God of my salvation;

On thee do I wait all the day.

   Remember, O Lord, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses;

For they have been ever of old.

   Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions:

According to thy mercy remember thou me

For thy goodness’ sake, O Lord.

   Good and upright is the Lord:

Therefore will he teach sinners in the way (Psa 25:1-8 KJV).

              Since all these things are true about the Lord our God, we do, without shame, lift our souls up to Him. In other words, we trust Him, we pray to Him, and we depend upon Him. When life seems overwhelming, do not forget to sing this song and remind yourself that God is your source for all you need!

Peace,

Jay Don
