We often wonder about God’s will for our lives. Sometimes we even go so far as to voice our concern about this out loud, at least to ourselves. The Bible tells us clearly what is God’s will for our lives.

Rejoice always,  pray continually,  give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NIV)

These verses hold much more treasure than merely commanding us to have a “good attitude” about things. These verses tell us about the God we serve and His desire for us to be saved. Our God is the God who wants all men to be saved benefiting from what God has done for us in Christ Jesus. (1 Timothy 2:3–5)

Our thanks to God is super-circumstantial, because

But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you have come to obey from your heart the pattern of teaching that has now claimed your allegiance. (Romans 6:17 NIV)
