Discipleship is one of the functions of a Christian along with worship, fellowship, mission, and generosity. Christians are disciples of Christ in the model of first century Jew. Chosen disciples would yoke to a Rabbi with authority (S’mikhah) and follow closely enough to learn their interpretations on the Law (binding and losing) and think, act, discern like them and emulate them. We are disciples of the Rabbi with all authority under heaven and earth, Jesus Christ.

Matthew 28:18-20, Matthew 11:28-30
