Academic Recognition Reception was last Monday evening.  The following students were recognized: 

A Team:  Cali Booth 

A Honor List: Cody Buczyna, Chera Chaney, Halie Payne & Ali Szabo

AB Honor List: Cary Bryna, Jonathan Juarez, Jessi McGuire, Kendar Reams & Russ Russell.

Russ was awarded All Star Cast.

All the youth and their parents are invited to a Shower for Dustin & Chelsey Wednesday, March 30^th, immediately following service.  The shower will be held at Greg & Angie’s house.  They will have a money tree at the shower, please give your money to Angie as soon as possible.

-The team of Cody Buczyna & Cooper Dickerson winning 1^st in District for UIL CX Debate, they will compete in Austin at the State Competition in March.

-Also, to the girls varsity basketball team of: Chera Chaney, Ciara Cope, Ali Szabo, & Cali Booth and Coach Barnett winning 2^nd in District.

Dustin & Dee will meet with all the parents of our youth (elementary thru high school) Sunday morning after services in the large classroom off the south foyer.  They will be discussing several things including LTC.

This Sunday our Middle School & High School youth will travel to Coleman for the Youth Series; you need to be there by 3:50 to leave.  We have the permission slips for 2011, you must have one signed before you go.

Sunday, January 30^th, we will all meet in the family center at 6:00 p.m. for our singing and our kids will show their church family what they have learned.  We invite everyone to attend, bring a friend or family, join in singing hymns of praise to God and encourage our children.  We ask everyone to bring sandwiches, chips, and desserts

Congratulations to the Merkel Varsity Football team, District Champions: Robert Jackson Jr., Jonathan Juarez, Russ Russell, Cody Buczyna, Joseph Reed, Michael Newberry and Coach Bellah.  The Badgers will play Wall at Shotwell Stadium tonight (11/18).  Cary Bryan will get to suit up with varsity.
