Congratulations to Chera Chaney named FCA’s (Fellowship of Christian Athlete) Girl for the State of Texas.

Those graduating from Merkel High School Friday, 25^th, at 7:00p: Cody Buczyna, Chera Chaney, Tyler McDermott, Jessi McGuire, Morgan Miller, Michael Newberry, Joseph Reed, Russ Russell, & Brayden Shockley.

Tim & Nelda Walker’s grandson, Jay Luckie, is graduating from Trent Saturday, 26^th, at 10:00a. He is the son of Michael & Tammie Walker.

*We will honor our high school seniors on Sunday, May 13^th, after evening service in the family center.  This year we have 7 seniors graduating: Cody Buczyna, Chera Chaney, Jessi McGuire, Morgan Miller, Joseph Reed, Russ Russell, & Brayden Shockley.

*High School Youth will travel to Brownwood Wed., May 16^th, plan on leaving the building at 5:00. Jay Don will be speaking to the youth at the Austin Ave. church.

    -Odell Walker- All State Cast in One Act Play

    -Cody Buczyna- receives Service Academy Nomination; he is one of 7 appointed to the academy; he will be presented in Austin by Senator John Cornyn. Also, he is going to State in UIL Current Events.  Cody is MHS Salutatorian for the Class of 2012

High School Volleyball Bash & Cook-out: Monday, April 30^th, starting at noon at our outside volleyball court (no school that day, bad weather day). Invite your friends, if you have any questions see Lane.

Congratulations to McKenna Russell – in UIL District placed 3^rd in Feature Writing; Journalism Team placed 1^st overall – McKenna will compete in Regionals at ACU on 4/21^st.

*Boys Varsity Track results from the Breckenridge meet:

-Cary Bryan got 2^nd 800 relay

-Joseph Reed 1^st in Sprint Relay & 2^nd in 800 Relay

The Varsity Boy’s team received 3^rd overall.

*2012-2013 Varsity Cheerleaders: Ciara Cope & Macy Mays

Congratulations:

   * Canyon Jarrett has finished his ordeal to become a member of the Order of the Arrow in Boy Scouts.

   *Varsity Track:  Boys placed 1^st at Ballinger; Cary Bryan – 1^st-sprint relay, 1^st-800 relay, 2^nd-200 dash

*Girls: Ciara Cope – 1^st sprint relay, 4^th-triple jump, 5^th-400; Cali Booth – 1st-sprint relay, 2^nd-400, 2^nd-200, 1^st-triple jump, 2^nd-long jump

*JV Boys: Caylub Crouse 1^st-hurdles (first time he has participated in track)

   *Ciara Cope, Jessi McGuire & Jacy Lovelace’s golf team place 3^rd in Baird.
