Elders’ meeting Sunday 4:30
Deacons’ meeting 5:00
-We had 6 children from our congregation travel to San Angelo to participate in the Southgate Church of Christ Bible Bowl this past Saturday. Brylie Myers, Zoey, Maddie & Emma Boyd and Logan & Dylan Tatum studied the Gospel of John for the testing. They all did very well with our junior team of Logan, Dylan & Emma placing 3rd and Zoey placed 2nd in the senior division. We are so proud of their hard work and the parents for helping them.
-Young Christian men between the ages of 14 to 18 we have received the forms for the Preacher Training Camp at Oldham Lane June 2-7. If you are interested please see Jay Don.

I seek you with all my heart;
do not let me stray from your commands. I have hidden your word in my heart
that I might not sin against you.
The word of God is a continual wellspring
of life for those willing to drink from it. The truth of God’s word will sustain the weary, strengthen the weak, and guide
safely those wandering. Our world continues to seek and demand a new
miracle cure that can satisfy us emotionally, strengthen our bodies to some
glorious level, and finally get our lives on a pathway to security of every
physical kind. While many frantically search for the newest and fastest miracle
cure, the truth sits tragically unnoticed,
waiting for anyone to have the courage to examine her eternal value, wanting
each of us to come across her most blessed companion — humility and so find her practical result of wisdom. You see, humility affords the truth the opportunity to
penetrate our souls and discern the inmost thoughts and intentions of our
hearts (Heb 4:12). God blesses, according to truth, all those humble enough to seek the truth and find wisdom (1Pet 5:5-7; Jas 4:5-10; Prov 2:2-6). The soul of man
hungers and thirst deeply for the sustenance,
strength, and guidance that ONLY
the truth of God’s word can provide. We should all be so appreciative of our
young people, who chose to set aside the compelling offers of the world around them,
so they could be digging diligently into the depths of God’s word and face the grueling
challenges of their latest Bible Bowl competition! Congratulations to all of
our Bible Bowl participants and coaches! We pray God’s blesses your humility
and efforts in ways that glorify Him!
119 and Proverbs 2 help us see the value of truth, wisdom, and humility:
9 How can a young man
keep his way pure?
By living according
to your word.
10 I seek you with all my heart;
do not let me stray
from your commands.
have hidden your word in my heart
that I might not sin against you.
12 Praise be to you, O Lord;
me your decrees.
13 With my lips I recount
the laws that come from your mouth.
14 I rejoice in following your statutes
as one rejoices in
15 I meditate on your precepts
and consider your ways.
16 I delight in your decrees;
I will not neglect your word (Psa 119:9-16).
son, if you accept my words
and store up my commands within you,
2 turning your ear to wisdom
and applying your
heart to understanding,
3 and if you call out for insight
and cry aloud for
4 and if you look for it as for silver
and search for it as
for hidden treasure,
you will understand the fear of the Lord
and find the
knowledge of God.
the Lord gives wisdom,
and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding (Prov 2:2-6).
