«McKenna Russell won the following – in FFA at the Trent Stock Show a 1^st place and Reserve Grand Champion for Cross Breed and Taylor County Stock Show Duroc Breed a 9^th Place and Cross Breed a 3^rd Place

«Carly Szabo, Chera Chaney, Traci Childers, Ali Szabo, Ciara Cope and the Merkel Varsity Girls’ Basketball team have a playoff game this Friday 7:00 at McMurry against Bangs.

Last Sunday Weston Kofoed was baptized.  He is the son of Josh & Beki Kofoed and the grandson of Joe & Glenda Stephens.  Joe & Glenda were in attendance for his baptism.  Congratulations to the Kofoed family.

-Thank you Christian brothers and sisters for the prayers during my time of trial.  I just praise God for such a wonderful recovery!  Diane Miller

-I wanted to extend a very warm thank you to all those who helped make the Singles Valentine Banquet a success.  There were so many who donated supplies, food, and decorations.  I also want to thank those who donated time to help practice, decorate, set up cook, serve, and clean-up. The youth and their families had 3 work days to make this banquet happen and they did a wonderful job.  When you see them please thank them personally for using their talent and their time for God’s glory. 60 people were served that day!  Good job church family!  In Him, Amber Bryan

«Russ Russell placed 10^th with his Duroc pig during the Ft. Worth Stock Show

«Jessi McGuire and Morgan Miller and the Merkel girl’s JV Basketball team won District Tuesday night.

«Also to our girl’s Varsity Basketball team who are District Champions: Carly Szabo, Chera Chaney, Traci Childers, Ali Szabo and Ciara Cope.

We will honor our Elders and Deacons Sunday, February 28^th, after morning service in the family center.  Our Elders work hard making important decisions for our congregations and the Deacons keep our programs running smoothly with all their hard work.  We would like for everyone to join us in showing our appreciation to these men who serve our church family.  Please bring two potluck dishes and a dessert.

The ladies will meet Saturday, Feb. 20^th, 11:00 at the building and travel to Sweetwater.
