Page Boyd has started a new class for young women on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings, they are meeting in the library. This class is for college age to young mothers, this includes the young women who graduated from high school this past May.
Ladies, would you be interested in meeting once a month to eat and visit? I would love to have a ‘Red Hat’ group in our congregation. Red Hat in a disorganization of women who are 50 years old and wear red on their head and purple on their shoulders. We would meet once a month and have a meal sometimes driving to an Abilene restaurant and sometimes having potluck here. It would be an opportunity to share needs and to get to know each other. Oh, 49 years and younger wear pink hats and lavender shirts. If you are interested, met with Glenda Stephens this Sunday, July 12th, after evening services in the large classroom off the south foyer.
Jenna Bryan was baptized 7/1 by her father, Michael. She will be a junior this year at Merkel H.S. We rejoice with her family and the angels in heaven on her decision to put Christ on in baptism.

uMembers of Merkel Church of Christ, Thank you so much for the teddy bear quilt and the silver spoon. Emory will love them! Brian and I are so blessed to have so many people to support us. We appreciate all of the prayers and encouragement your congregation has given us over the years. Thanks again for thinking of us as we start this exciting new phase of our lives. Brian & Carole Hunt

uRonnie & Dee Dee Wright will be leaving Merkel soon. They wish to express a note of sincere thanks to the Church here in Merkel. According to Dee Dee, “during their stay here in Merkel the Church became like family.” She also says that the prayers and the support will never be forgotten and have been sincerely appreciated. She promises to keep in touch and asks that we do the same. We will have their new address soon. Ronnie asks us to remember the passage in Isaiah 40:31 NASV- “Yet those who wait for the Lord will gain new strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary.” This prayer is left with a heartfelt goodbye from the Wright family.
We love Dee Dee and Ronnie- God bless you go with God. And remember you always have family here in Merkel, Texas praying for you. “For I know the plans I have for you” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jer. 29:11 NIV Go in prosperity! God has blessed you.
