Ladies’ Day

April 9, 2009

WOW!! If you missed the gathering last Saturday at Camp Butman you missed a very uplifting day.  All the ladies had a great time.  Jayma was an amazing speaker.  We had an over abundance of door prizes for everyone.  Many of the ladies have expressed their gratitude for the many wonderful gifts they took home.  There are many people we need to thank for making this a very successful day.  First, the 3 ladies who put everything together are: Angie Chaney for getting the ball moving & door prizes, Amber Bryan for organizing, making the programs, overseeing everything and Dee Goldsmith for getting our speaker and working with Camp Butman.  Also we would like to thank all the ladies that spoke on the many topics of Christian women: Jan McCoy- Singing & Prayer; Charlotte Carey- Bible Study; Mozetta Youngers- Gardening; Krystal Woolard & Mary Schrampfer- Budgeting; Tracey Carey & Gayle Swinney- Crocheting; and Glenda Stephens- Organizing.  Table centerpieces were made by Jeanette, Barbara Sue & Janet, Page helped with door prizes and Teresa help with organizing snacks.  Thanks to all the ladies who donated door prizes.

The Empty Tomb

April 9, 2009

empty21

This a wonderful time we have, to worship God and also today to thank Him for sending us Jesus so that He could die on the cross and be raised. That is the key that we are thinking about especially today that Jesus was raised. We teach our children Bible stories all year long, we teach our youth how to apply the Bible into situations of their lives and we teach the adults in class how much we are still learning. One thing still is for certain THE TOMB IS EMPTY.

THE EMPTY TOMB gives me the greatest joy I have ever experienced. There is power to gain, riches to gain and knowledge to possess, but what I strive to cherish more every day is to appreciate the wonderful gift we have from God – THE EMPTY TOMB. Without THE EMPTY TOMB we have a broken promise from God, but if you have studied the Bible you know thtomb1at God always and I repeat always lives up to His end of the deal.

I only hope that each of us strives to be more like Jesus, it is not easy, but it is possible. There are a lot of things we get from this world but what I really hope that we get is knowing that Jesus loves us and He died to win our souls. You can do something; give yourself back to Him daily. Luke 9:23 “Then He said to them all: “If anyone would come after Me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow Me.” Have a great week!
