The message of the world in the desires of our flesh is all too easy to hear and follow (Eph 2:3). However, it seems the message of the word of God is challenging to hear.
Can we hear it?
More importantly do we want to hear it?
As Jesus told a parable explaining this dilemma of listening internally, not just audibly, He would call out (Luke 8:8 NASB) “He who has ears let Him hear.”
Luke 8:4 – 18 (v.8)
Jesus calls out to the seven churches of Asia to have ears that hear what the Spirit says to the churches – Rev 2:7, 11, 17, 29; 3:6, 13, 22; 13:9
Looking at the Cosmic Reign, Power, and Authority of Christ (Eph 1:15-23), can we hear its message for us? Can we hear its practical message for us the church (Eph 2:1-10)?
Following our flesh will leave us enslaved to sin and the condemnation it deserves.
Because of God’s great love for us, He has shown us rich mercy and grace to make us alive with Christ when we were dead in our transgressions.
This salvation is not from us because it can not come from us, anymore than life can come from death.
In Christ, the church, we are God’s purposed and planned workmanship!
