The Bible tells us not to love the world, the things in the world. God loves the world, the people in it (John 3:16), and so should we love the people in it. When God tells us not to love the world or anything in the world (1 John 2:15), He is telling us not to fall prey to the world’s standards or its temporary rewards!

Walking in the Light (1 John 1:7) we have rewards that are eternal, that is, not from this temporary world. These rewards are from our Father, who is eternal. What the Father gives us cannot come from this temporary world, for the world does not value them, and it simply cannot offer them (1 John 2:16-17).

Forgiveness, Knowledge, Strength, and Victory are the possession of those, who are as innocent as little children, as knowledgeable and experienced as fathers, and as strong and victorious as young men, because of their fellowship with God in Christ Jesus (1 John 2:12-14).
