The lies we face today are not new, they are not some recent invention or temptation (1 Corinthians 10:13). The devil is the liar that he has always been, he is the father of all lies (John 8:43-47). He is the ancient serpent from the garden, the deceiver who leads the whole world astray (Revelation 12:9).

Truth is not relative. We are not the final authority on who God is, what He wants, what really matters, and in the end what saves us. God is our redeemer, the God of all truth (Psalms 31:5), and it is in His truth that we are truly disciples of Jesus Christ (John 8:31-32). It is by the testimony of truth and the blood of the Lamb that we are able to overcome the devil and his lies (Revation 12:11).

In Christ, we believe the truth and so we delight in God given righteousness so that we do not fall prey to the deception of falsehood.

2 Thesselonians 2:10-12 – every sort of evil that deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 11 For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie 12 and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.
