In Christ Jesus, God is offering the world peace with Himself. Peace is the fruit of forgiveness that we simply cannot do without. Without forgiveness, there is no peace (Colossians 1:20-22).

God paints a picture, through His prophet (Isaiah 59:2-15), of life without the peace that forgiveness affords. It is not a pleasant picture. It portrays confusion, bitterness, murder, selfishness, a disregard for God and His word, and a desire to swiftly do evil.

God also paints a picture of His power to save His people who will repent and His desire to save all mankind, worldwide (Isaiah  59:2, 16-21). God shows sinners the way of their sin, but He also shows them His provision for a way out of it.

God, graciously bless us with the desire to have the kind of faith in Christ Jesus that brings us to His cross and the peace that awaits us in your forgiveness (Colossians 1:20 – 22; Romans 5:1; 6:3) in order that we may walk in newness of life (Romans 6:4)!
